Once you’ve discovered Manual Editing with Aftershoot, the next logical step is to try to master it and improve your workflow even further. For that purpose, today we’ll cover all the available shortcuts Aftershoot has to offer when it comes to Manual Editing.
Shortcuts for Manual Editing Sliders
Once you’re on the main Manual Editing screen, it’s time to choose which sliders to adjust. You can do that by scrolling through them and clicking. Or you can use the shortcuts:
Tab - press to cycle forward through sliders, one slider at a time
Shift + Tab - press to cycle backward through sliders, one slider at a time
When you choose a slider, you can adjust its value by clicking and dragging on its circle. You can also use these shortcuts for more precise adjustments:
↑ - press to increase slider value by 1
Shift + ↑ - press to increase slider value by 5
↓ - press to decrease the slider value by 1
Shift + ↓ - press to decrease the slider value by 5
With the desired changes in place, you might want to inspect the images closer:
\ (backward slash) - press to toggle between the before and after of an image
Spacebar - press to toggle zoom levels. Aftershoot will zoom in on wherever your cursor is placed on the image
If you wish to quickly undo or redo a change, use these shortcuts:
CMD/CTRL + Z - press to undo the last adjustment you made
CMD/CTRL + Shift + Z - press to redo the last adjustment you undid
With all the editing adjustments done, you might want to move on to cropping or subject masking:
R - press to switch to the Crop tab
M - press to switch to the Masking tab

Once on the masking tab, the first thing you might want to do is to adjust the brush before you start masking:
[ - press to decrease brush size
] - press to increase brush size
Shift + [ - press to decrease brush softness
Shift + ] - press to increase brush softness
If you need to inspect the image for a bit before applying more masking, you can use:
Shift - press to pan the image
O - press to toggle between hiding and showing the overlay
Alt/Option - to toggle between brush and eraser
K - to enable or disable the brush
