Using Flags inside Aftershoot

Aftershoot comes with a variety of Filter Groups to categorize all the images you import into neat little piles.

But what if you need another group for the images you want to select yourself? Worry not, Flags were created for this exact purpose!

Once you’ve imported and culled your images, you’ll find yourself on the main screen in Grid View. If you look in the right upper corner of the screen, above the quick filters, you’ll find the Flagged and Unflagged filter groups.

By default, all the images that you import are marked as Unflagged. To Flag an image, simply click on it and press the D key shortcut. After that, it will be placed in the Flagged filter group.

This way, you can quickly add images from different Filter Groups separately.

There is another, even more streamlined way to use Flags together with Spray Can Mode. This way you can cull through hundreds of images in mere clicks.

First, activate Spray Can Mode by clicking on its icon.

Then set Flags as the desired action for the left-click of the mouse. Add any other desired action to other button combinations.

With that done, simply go through your images and left-click on the ones you want Flagged.

Go over this articles to find out even more about the benefits of Spray Can Mode.

To export your Flagged images, simply click on their Filter Group and then press the Export button. Aftershoot Flags are compatible with Lightroom, and you can export the images directly to Lightroom. You can treat the images Flagged in Aftershootthe same way you’d treat Flagged images in Lightroom.
