Sometimes you just want to see the best images from a photo session. At other times, you need a concrete number of the best images selected and ready to go.
This is when Aftershoot’s Cull-to-Target slider steps into the spotlight.
After you import your images, click on the Start Culling button, and select an AI-Automated Cull, you’ll see this slider for the first time.
In Automated-AI Cull Mode, you will see a percentage slider going from 0 to 100, with an estimated number of images you’ll be getting below. Here you can select exactly how many of the imported images you want to be selected
It’s available in the Automated-AI Cull Mode and looks like a percentage slider, going from 0 to 100. To use it, all you have to do is drag the little circle to the desired percentage. For example, you imported 1000 images and want 100 to be selected - then set the slider to 10%.
Note that if you set the slider at a very low or very high percentage, the number of selected images you will get might be inaccurate.
Please keep in mind that when you use the Automated-AI Cull Mode, Aftershoot will deliver Maybes instead of Highlights. These are the mages the AI didn’t deem good enough to be placed in Selected, but were the best available choices out of their respective duplicate sets. This group will only appear when you for the Automated-AI Cull Mode.

After you set the Cull-to-Target percentage, you can further customize your cull by switching to Customized AI Cull.
After you set up these preferences, the AI will consider them when selecting the number of images you indicated on the slider. Keep in mind that when you cull in the Customized AI Mode, Aftershoot will replace the Maybes with Highlights. These are the images that the AI considered the best out of the whole shoot. You can use them to deliver same-day sneak peeks to your customers or share them on your social media accounts. Click on the toggle to enable or disable this depending on your needs or the type of shoot.
