You've just finished culling and editing your latest work in Aftershoot and can't wait to review the results inside Lightroom. But when you open the app, you don't see any changes done editing-wise.

There are two scenarios where you can't see your Aftershoot edits in Lightroom. The first one is where you can't see them at all - if that's the case, proceed to the first method. The second one is when Aftershoot edits aren't displayed in Lightroom's grid view. To solve that, proceed to method two.

Method 1 - Read Metadata

Step 1.

After you're done importing your images from Aftershoot, select all of them by pressing the Cmd + A (for MacOS) / Ctrl + A (for Windows) key combination.

Step 2.

Click on the Metadata tab on the menu. In the drop-down select Read Metadata from Files. This will make Lightroom read and display the edits stored in the images' XMP files.

Method 2 - Build Previews

Step 1.

After you're done importing your images from Aftershoot, select all of them by pressing the Cmd + A (for MacOS) / Ctrl + A (for Windows) key combination.

Step 2.

Click on the Library tab on the menu. In the drop-down select Previews, and choose Build Standard Sized Previews. You will see your Aftershoot's edits displayed in Lightroom's image grid.

In case you have read the metadata, but the issue persists, there is one more thing you can do.
Head back to Aftershoot, open your album, and click on the Edit Again button, after which re-import your images to Lightroom, and read the metadata again. You can also re-import your catalog to Aftershoot and run a new edit from scratch, after which you'd repeat the steps of re-importing and reading the metadata in Lightroom.
