In some rare cases, you might get a black screen when starting Aftershoot, that won’t go away no matter what key you press. If that happens follow the steps below:
For Windows Users
Step 1. Open your Task Manager, find Aftershoot, right-click on it, and choose End Task.
Step 2. Uninstall Aftershoot.
Step 3. From the Start Menu launch Windows Explorer. Click View, then click Show, and then select Hidden Files.
Step 4. Find and delete the following folders:
C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Aftershoot
C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Programs\Aftershoot
Step 5. Once the folders are deleted, reinstall Aftershoot and start it.
Everything should be in order now.
For macOS Users
Step 1. Click on the Spotlight icon in the upper-right menu bar (the magnifying glass icon to the right of the Wi-Fi icon).
Step 2. Type in Terminal in the search bar and press return. Type in the command below into the Terminal and press return again.
sudo nano /etc/hosts
Step 3. In the screen that appears, enter your password and press return.
Step 4. In this screen, delete every line of text on the screen by using your cursor and the backspace key. Then copy and paste the following:
127.0.0.1 localhost
255.255.255.255 broadcasthost
::1 localhost
Step 5. Press Control + X, followed by Y and the Return key.
Step 6. Quit the terminal and restart your system. Afterward, you can continue using Aftershoot as usual.
