If you are noticing that Aftershoot is stuck on importing images and there has been no progress for more than a few minutes; here are a few things we would recommend you try:

Check your Antivirus software

Often some Antivirus softwares will incorrectly flag Aftershoot as a threat as it tries to access your storage to read the raw files for culling.

This might result in them quarantining or deleting the AI engine.

To fix this, reinstall Aftershoot and before starting it; add an exclusion to the following folder in your Antivirus:

On Windows

C:\Users\{Your User name}\AppData\Local\Programs\Aftershoot\resources\

On macOS

/Applications/Aftershoot.app

Once done, start Aftershoot and you should not face this issue again!

Ensure you have the correct codecs installed

For Windows N users, Aftershoot needs an additional codec that's not installed by default. To install it; follow the steps below:

  • Navigate to windows Settings > Apps > Apps and Features > Optional Features > Add a Feature

  • Find the Media Feature Pack in the list of available Optional Features

  • Install it and restart your system

Enable Power Saving Mode

If none of the above mentioned solutions have worked for you, try enabling "Power Saving mode" from Aftershoot's home screen to see if that solves the problem.

If you have tried all the solutions mentioned here and none of them have helped solve your problem, drop us a message from the in-app chat and we'll be happy to help!
