In some rare occurrences, Aftershoot can get stuck when importing or culling your images. If you notice that there hasn't been any progress in a few minutes, you can try a few things to fix this situation.
Check your Antivirus software
Some Antivirus software might incorrectly flag Aftershot as a threat when it tries to read the RAW files of your images when culling. This can result in the Antivirus quarantining or even deleting the AI engine.
If this happens, simply reinstall Aftershoot, but don't start it. First, add the following exclusion for this folder in your Antivirus:
On Windows:
C:\Users\{Your User Name}\AppData\Local\Programs\Aftershoot\resources\
On macOS:
/Applications/Aftershoot.app
Once you're done, you can start Aftershoot and shouldn't face this issue again.
Ensure you have the correct codecs installed
On Windows, Aftershoot needs an additional codec that may not be installed by default. Follow the steps below to install it:
Step 1. Go to Windows Settings > Apps > Apps and Features > Optional Features > Add a Feature
Step 2. In the list of available Optional Features find the Media Feature Pack
Step 3. Install the Media Feature Pack and restart your system
Enable Low Performance Mode
If none of the previous solutions have worked, there’s one more thing you could try. While in Aftershot, look at the top of your screen and find Performance. Click on it and select Low from the dropdown that appears.
