How to Update AMD GPU Drivers

Written by AftershootAI 🦄

For Aftershoot to deliver the best results and optimal performance, your AMD graphics drivers need to be up-to-date.

Below, we’ll go over the update process and walk through every step.

Step 1. If you’re reading this article, you’ve probably encountered this warning while using Aftershoot. The first thing you need to do now is ensure the Aftershoot app is closed before proceeding.

Step 2. Go to this link and download the AMD Auto-Detect and Install Tool.

Step 3. Once you’ve downloaded the .exe file, launch it and begin installation.

Step 4. When you launch the auto-installer, it will begin scanning your systems and noting which drivers need to be updated.

Step 5. During this step, you need to choose the driver package you want to install, but you can also just choose the Default option. Once you’ve made your choice, click Accept & Express Install.

Step 6. It will take a couple of minutes for the drivers to be installed. When it’s done, and you see the final screen, check the boxes next to Launch AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition and Keep AMD software up to date. Then click on Close.

Step 7. With the install over, AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition will launch on its own, and you will see its main screen. This piece of software will take care of keeping your AMD GPU drivers up-to-date. At this point, all your drivers should have been updated already.

In the upper right corner of the screen, you can see the status of your drivers. Go ahead and click on Manage Updates.

On this screen, make sure to toggle on Auto-update. This should keep your GPU drivers up-to-date at all times.

And that’s it, you can go ahead and start Aftershoot - this should solve the warning you received. If you have any questions or issues, don't hesitate to get in touch with us at [email protected] or through in-app support!
