Troubleshoot Aftershoot Manual Editing Issues

Written by AftershootAI 🦄

In case you’re experiencing issues with the manual editing sliders, please consult this article to try to solve them.

1.Manual Editing Not Supported on Your System

If you’re seeing this error message, this might mean your system’s GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) isn’t strong enough to handle preview and manual editing in Aftershoot. This is the case if your GPU has less than 2GB of memory or your system has an Intel GPU.

Currently, Aftershoot cannot run manual editing on systems like these, but our team is working to make it possible in the future.

My GPU has over 2GB of memory and isn’t Intel

If that’s the case, there are two more things to try:

  • If you’re on a laptop - check if it’s not in Power/Battery Saving Mode. If so, try turning the mode off, that might solve the problem in your case.

  • In case you’re on a Windows OS laptop. Open Settings (Win + I keyboard shortcut), go to Display, then select Graphics, and finally click Browse (or Add desktop app/Add an app, depending on your Windows version).

Now select Aftershoot.exe from the list. Once it’s been added, click on it, then select Options and remove Let Windows decide and replace it with Select High Performance GPU. Once you’re done, click Save.

If none of these helped, please contact our support team at [email protected] or through the app.

2. Adjusting Sliders Unavailable

If you’re encountering this specific error message, there are multiple options to try and solve it. We’ll start with the easiest ones first and progress in order of difficulty.

  • First, try simply restarting the Aftershoot app.

  • If you have any heavy or resource-consuming apps running in the background, try closing them and restarting the app.

  • If you’re on a laptop - check if it’s not in Power/Battery Saving Mode. If so, try turning the mode off, that might solve the problem in your case.

  • If you moved your images filed after importing them into Aftershoot, try moving them back to their initial location on your system.

  • This error may also appear when you’re trying to manually edit an image type that isn’t supported by Aftershoot. Currently, we’re aware Aftershoto doesn’t support manual editing on images from the Sony A7V, but we’re working on changing that in the future. You can try checking your app’s version and downloading the latest one to see if that solves the issue.
