How to Build an Instant AI Profile

Written by AftershootAI 🦄

There are Professional AI Profiles, pre-built AI & Creator Styles, and, last but not least, Instant Profiles.

Instant Profiles are AI Editing Profiles in Aftershoot that you don’t have to train. They are created based on Lightroom presets.

Note: In case you have never used a Lightroom preset before, read this article to learn how to create one.

How do I Build an Instant Profile?

Step 1. On the Aftershoot Home Screen, look at the top of the screen, and click on the AI Profiles tab, between the Home and Marketplace tabs.

Here, click on the New Profile button.

Step 2. Select Instant AI Profile on the pop-up screen that appears.

Step 3. On the next screen, you have a choice - upload your own Lightroom preset or use one provided by Aftershoot.

Using an Aftershoot Preset

To create an Instant AI Profile with one of Aftershoot’s presets, click on the Use Aftershoot Preset button.

On this screen, choose one of the editing styles in the top carousel, click on it, and then click on the Next button once you’re done. From here, you can proceed to Step 4 of this article.

Using a Lightroom Preset

Use the dropdown labeled Select from my presets to upload a Lightroom preset. You can also directly drag and drop an .xmp preset file.

Note: Using a Color preset will keep the image’s color when editing, while enhancing or correcting it, in accordance with the preset’s editing style. A Black-and-White preset will convert images to Grayscale when editing.

Step 4. Once you’ve selected the preset you want to use, it’s time to name your Instant AI Profile and choose the Profile Type.

Note: If you select JPEG, this Instant AI Profile will only be able to edit JPEG file-type images. The same applies if you select RAW, the AI Profile will only be able to edit RAW file-type images.

Step 5. In the next step, you will be presented with a survey. This is just to define your preferences about Exposure, Temperature, and Tint, in order to fine-tune the AI Profile beyond the preset’s capabilities.

Step 6. The last step is to click on the Generate Profile button — Aftershoot will handle the rest. In a few seconds, your new Instant AI Profile will be ready to use.

With your Instant AI Profile, you can start editing your images in Aftershoot, quickly and easily, in the same editing style as your Lightroom preset.
