There are two main reasons why you are missing the Edit in Aftershoot option inside Lightroom, as well as two quick ways to solve them.

Your Aftershoot Version is Outdated

Aftershoot version 2.9.XX or newer

With Aftershoot open, go to the Help tab and select Check for Updates from the dropdown. Click on the Update button in the window that appears and wait for the update to be finished.

Once that is done, you can start up LrC and check if that solved the issue of Edit in Aftershoot missing.

Aftershoot version 2.8.XX or older

First thing you have to do is delete the Aftershoot app from your system. Afterward, follow the steps described in this article to download and install the latest version of Aftershoot. Once that is done, you can start up LrC and check if that solved the issue of Edit in Aftershoot missing.

Permission Restrictions on your system

Here’s how you can solve this, depending on the system that you’re running.

MacOS

First, decide on the image or image folder you want to use. Then right-click it and select Get Info. In the pop-up window that appears, under Sharing & Permissions, click to the right of everyone and select Read & Write.

Restart LrC and open this image or image folder, you should be able to use the Edit in Aftershoot option now.

Windows

First, decide on the image or image folder you want to use. Then right-click it and select Properties. In the pop-window that appears, under the General tab, deselect the checkbox next to Read-only and click on the Apply button.

Next, proceed to the Security tab, select Authenticated Users and click on the Edit button.

In the new window that appears, check the box next to Full Controlb and click on the Apply button.

Restart LrC and open this image or image folder, you should be able to use the Edit in Aftershoot option now.
